01. Appointment Policy

Made-to-Measure services at Ikigai Tailoring are available by appointment only. As tailoring is a highly personal process, each appointment is reserved exclusively for the individual client, allowing us to focus on providing thoughtful consultation and an experience tailored to your specific needs.

Appointments can be requested through the Book an Appointment page on our website. Once we receive your request, Ikigai Tailoring will contact you to confirm the appointment and arrange a suitable time.
Should you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment, we kindly ask that you let us know as early as possible. This allows us to manage our schedule accordingly and assist you in finding a suitable alternative.

If your schedule changes and you are unable to attend your appointment as arranged, please contact Ikigai Tailoring at your earliest convenience. Providing advance notice allows us to reschedule your appointment appropriately and make the time available to other clients.

We will always do our best to accommodate clients who arrive late. However, the duration of your appointment may need to be adjusted depending on the schedule of the following appointment. If another client is booked immediately afterwards, we may not be able to extend your appointment to make up for the time missed, in order to ensure that all appointments run smoothly and on schedule.
If you anticipate being late or need to make any changes to your appointment, please contact Ikigai Tailoring as soon as possible. We will do our best to assist and make the necessary arrangements.

02. Made-to-Measure Policy

The Made-to-Measure process at Ikigai Tailoring consists of three stages: Consultation & Measurement, Fitting, and Alteration & Collection.

Consultation & Measurement: During the initial appointment, we take the time to understand your needs, intended use and personal style, while providing guidance on cloth, design and garment details. Once these choices have been agreed upon, we will take your measurements to begin the making of your garments.

Fitting: Once your garments are completed, we will invite you to the studio for a fitting to assess the overall silhouette, fit and any details that may require adjustment. This is also an opportunity for us to advise on how to coordinate your garments with shoes, accessories and accompanying pieces to complete the overall look.

For special occasions such as weddings, you may consider this fitting as a dress rehearsal. We encourage you to bring the shoes and any accessories you plan to wear on the day, allowing us to assess the complete look and make sure every element works together.

Alteration & Collection: Following the fitting, we will make any necessary adjustments, which are expected to be completed within one week. Once the alterations are complete, we will notify you to return for a final fitting. If no further adjustments are required and you are satisfied with the garments, they will be ready for collection.

The estimated completion time for our Made-to-Measure service is 6–8 weeks from the confirmation of the cloth, design details and measurements.

The actual completion time may vary depending on each client’s requirements and the time of year. Ikigai Tailoring will provide you with an estimated timeline during the ordering process. If you have a specific deadline or require your garments by a particular date, please contact us via the chat box so we can advise you accordingly.

During the consultation, once we understand your requirements and the intended purpose of the garments, we will provide recommendations on suitable cloth, design and garment details.

These choices will be discussed and confirmed before measurements are taken and the garments enter production. The overall style and silhouette will also be discussed during the measurement appointment to ensure the final result is best suited to your proportions and preferences.

As each garment is made according to the individual choices of each client, the cloth, design and garment details cannot be changed once the garments have entered production. We therefore encourage you to discuss your preferences thoroughly with the Ikigai Tailoring team before confirming your order.

Before production begins, Ikigai Tailoring will confirm with you all relevant details, including cloth, design, garment details and measurements.

Production will only begin once these details have been confirmed by you. After this point, the cloth, design and garment details cannot be changed.

During the fitting, we can still make the necessary adjustments to the garment’s fit and silhouette to achieve the best possible result.

03. Payment Policy

For our Made-to-Measure service, full payment is required before the garment enters production. Production will begin once the payment has been received and confirmed.

Ikigai Tailoring currently accepts cash, card and bank transfer as payment methods.

Once the order has been confirmed and the garment has entered production, the selected cloth and design details cannot be changed. As each garment is made specifically to the individual client’s requirements, we encourage you to discuss any questions or requests thoroughly with the Ikigai Tailoring team before confirming your order.

Once the garment has entered production or has been completed, the order is non-refundable in the event that you change your selections or no longer require the garment.

04. Fitting & Alteration Policy

For a client’s first Made-to-Measure commission, each garment includes at least one fitting once the garment has been completed. Further fittings and alterations will be arranged as needed, depending on the individual garment and the client’s requirements, until the appropriate fit is achieved.

The Made-to-Measure process at Ikigai Tailoring is designed with a focus on accuracy from the outset, from the initial consultation and measurements through to the making of the garment. This allows us to minimise unnecessary fittings and alterations, providing a simplified, effortless and efficient tailoring experience.

Each standard alteration is expected to be completed within one working week from the fitting. The actual timeframe may vary depending on the extent of the alterations required and the specific requirements of each garment.

05. Changes, Cancellation & Refund Policy

During the consultation process, you may make changes to your garment selection, cloth, style and design details before the order is confirmed and the garment enters production.

Once the order has been confirmed and production has begun, the selected cloth, style and design details cannot be changed. As each garment is made specifically to the individual client’s requirements, we encourage you to discuss any preferences, questions or concerns thoroughly with the Ikigai Tailoring team before confirming your order.

As part of our Made-to-Measure service, each garment is made specifically according to the client’s measurements, selections and requirements. Therefore, orders cannot be changed or cancelled once the garment has entered production.

If your body shape changes while your garment is being made, Ikigai Tailoring will discuss and make the necessary adjustments to the fit and silhouette during the fitting process.

Changes in body shape after measurements have been taken, such as changes in weight, can be accommodated through the fitting process and are not considered a fault with the garment.

However, the cloth, style and design details confirmed at the time of order cannot be changed once the garment has entered production.

Non-Refundable Circumstances

As each garment is made specifically to the individual client’s requirements, payments are non-refundable in the following circumstances:

You change your selection of cloth, style or design details after the order has been confirmed and the garment has entered production.
You change your requirements or no longer wish to proceed with the garment after production has begun.
Your body shape changes after measurements have been taken and the garment requires adjustments to accommodate your new measurements.

In these circumstances, Ikigai Tailoring will continue to assist with fit and silhouette adjustments, where appropriate, to achieve the best possible result.

Circumstances Where a Refund May Be Considered

Ikigai Tailoring will consider a refund where an issue arises as a result of an error in the making of the garment by Ikigai Tailoring, including:

A significant discrepancy in measurements resulting from an error during the measurement process or from the garment not being made according to the measurements that were confirmed.
Design details being made incorrectly compared with those confirmed during the consultation.
The garment being unable to be completed and collected within the timeframe confirmed by Ikigai Tailoring, due to reasons attributable to Ikigai Tailoring.

Where an issue arises, Ikigai Tailoring will first seek to resolve the matter through alteration or correction of the garment to achieve an appropriate result. If the issue cannot be reasonably resolved through alteration or further work, a refund may be considered.

06. Alteration Policy

For each client’s first Made-to-Measure garment, any necessary adjustments to the fit and silhouette following the fitting will be carried out by Ikigai Tailoring to ensure the garment is as well-fitted and suitable as possible before collection.

Adjustments will be made based on the outcome of the fitting and the specific requirements of each garment.

After the garment has been collected, Ikigai Tailoring may still be able to assist with alterations if there has been a change in your body shape compared to the time when your measurements were taken and the garment was completed.

In such cases, any alteration costs will be discussed and confirmed with you before the work is carried out.

Alteration requests arising from changes in body shape after collection, improper use or care of the garment, or other changes unrelated to the original making of the garment will not be covered as complimentary alterations.

Ikigai Tailoring will assess each case individually and advise you on the feasibility and cost of any alterations before proceeding.
